Yes, absolutely! The coconut makes a great planter because it is naturally robust and water resistant. We have grown some Grow-Grow Nuts already over 50x!
Pro tip: Rub oil on the inside of your grow groove from time to time, this will maintain and protect the natural material.
No one really likes mold... and just as with potted plants with a hole in the pot, it is also highly recommended when growing in a coconut shell that residual water can drain off. Otherwise it comes to waterlogging and possibly mold - we want to spare you!
When pressing the coconut soil occasionally deviations occur, which may have an impact on the swelling properties. But do not worry, the ingredients are unchanged. We recommend breaking the coconut soil into small pieces by hand during soaking. Alternatively, you can soak a coconut soil brick in about 250ml of warm water for a few minutes.
In principle, you can also use the soil several times, but it is best to sieve out the old root system after each use, otherwise it can become moldy. Over time, the soil loses nutrients, which may have a negative effect on the growth of microgreens. Therefore we recommend to use a new coco soil tile after 3-4 growing cycles at the latest. However, as is well known, the proof of the pudding is in the eating!
